茗溪学園中学校高等学校では、2027年度より中学校に「ケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス（仮称）」を1クラス、新たに設置する予定です。
これにより、本校中学校は、既存のアカデミアクラス（AC）2クラス、茗溪ジェネラルクラス（MG）3クラスに、新設のケンブリッジインターナショナルクラスを加えた、計6クラス編成となります。
導入されるカリキュラムと教育のねらい
ケンブリッジインターナショナルクラスでは、ケンブリッジ国際教育（Cambridge International Education）が提供する「Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme」および「Cambridge IGCSE」の導入を予定しており、現在、ケンブリッジ国際認定校としての認定に向けた手続きを進めています。
本クラスでは、複数の教科において英語による授業（英語で学ぶ科目）を実施し、思考力・表現力・国際的な学力の育成を目指します。
新設の背景
茗溪学園は、長年にわたり帰国生受け入れ校としての実績を重ねてまいりました。また、高等学校においては、2016年より国際バカロレア（IBDP）認定校として、世界水準の教育を実践しています。
今回のケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス新設は、こうした本校の教育の歩みを踏まえ、中学校段階から高等学校のIBDPコースへとつながる「国際的な学びの連続性」を、より一層充実させることを目的としています。

【Announcement】 Planned Establishment of a “Cambridge International Class (tentative name)” at Meikei Junior High School beginning in the 2027 Academic Year
Meikei Gakuen Junior and Senior High School plans to establish a new “Cambridge International Class (tentative name)” at the junior high school level starting in the 2027 academic year. One class will be newly introduced.
With this addition, the junior high school will consist of a total of six classes: two Academia (AC) Classes, three Meikei General (MG) Classes, and one Cambridge International Class (IC).
Curriculum and Educational Objectives
The Cambridge International Class will follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and Cambridge IGCSE provided by Cambridge International Education. The school is currently in the process of application to be registered as a Cambridge International School.
In this class, several subjects will be taught in English. Through learning academic content in English, the programme aims to develop students’ critical thinking skills, communication abilities, and internationally recognized academic competence.
Background of the New Class
Meikei Gakuen has a long history of welcoming returnee students and has built a strong foundation in international education. Furthermore, since 2016, the senior high school has been an authorized International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) school, offering education at a global standard.
The establishment of the Cambridge International Class is intended to further strengthen the continuity of international learning from junior high school through to the IBDP course at the senior high school level.
